For their annual summer recruitment campaign, the RNLI wanted to attract a younger audience of volunteers. Having worked on a number of projects with them in the past, they approached me with a brief to design and illustrate a poster along the lines of a festival theme which had to include crew member photographs.

Whilst the initial designs worked well, I needed the photographs to harmonise with the background in a better way. I subsequently took the illustration one step further and drew each crew member in the same style as the supporting elements, maintaining the lifelike appearance whilst resulting in a seamless natural blend with the background. They liked the final design so much that it was used on posters, printed ads, their website and shared across their social media platforms over the course of two summers.

I was immensly pleased as I fully support the vital, life-saving work that they do and am always proud to be involved with their campaign work.
